A few of the questions we got most often before the wedding. We’re keeping the answers here as a small record of how the weekend was put together.
The weekend
What was the dress code?
Welcome Drinks
Dressy Casual.
Wedding Day
Semi-Formal.
- Men: Suit or blazer with dress pants. Dress shirt and dress shoes. Tie optional.
- Women: Upscale cocktail or midi-length dresses, elegant jumpsuits or separates. Heels, wedges, or dressy flats.
The ceremony and cocktail hour were both outside.
Wine Down
Winery Casual (whatever that meant to you).
Were children there?
Our celebration was primarily adults-only, with the exception of immediate family members.
What was the rain plan?
The Silk Mill has both indoor and outdoor spaces, so we were covered regardless of weather. As it turned out, the day delivered perfect Virginia spring weather and we never needed the indoor backup.
What was the parking situation?
Free on-site parking at the Silk Mill, no valet. A trolley shuttled guests between The Publisher and the venue.
